Over the past three summers, FIGMENT has worked with a number of artists and organizations to create a free, artist-designed Minigolf Course on Governors Island. FIGMENT Terrace has been written about in Time Out NY, the NY Times, and the Village Voice. It is estimated that over 200,000 people visited FIGMENT Terrace in 2010.
This year's course theme is "Bugs and Features." Your challenge is to design and construct a single hole for this Minigolf Course. We are seeking 18 holes that interpret the theme with as much diversity of perspective as possible--literally, metaphorically, or with as much poetic license as you like. Please consider multiple aspects of the theme.
Artist or artist-teams must first register by February 15th. There is a $5 tax-deductible registration fee. Final proposals are due by March 1st.
